The Car

Our Humber

Our 1964 Humber Imperial V has been restored back to its original, luxurious condition.

We are delighted to be able to offer this supremely elegant car for hire; particularly as it’s the oldest one on the road worldwide, making it unique.

The 1964 Series V is different to the other Series models as it has a slightly higher-tuned engine giving 135 bhp. It can be distinguished by its revised rear-window treatment (doesn’t wrap around quite as much as earlier models), bird badge on the rear, opening quarter-light windows in the rear doors, and other trim differences.

A Little History

King George VI took delivery of his first Humber in 1935.

He was so impressed by the limousines that after the war he ordered 47 to be sent to British embassies around the world. Every prime minister of the day arrived at Downing Street in a Humber; Winston Churchill boasted a fleet of five Humbers.

There are fewer than 100 Humber Imperials on the road today (whereas 80 per cent of all the Rolls-Royces ever built can still be traced today) – this makes our Humber Imperial a gem, that needs to be experienced.
